Welcome--Meet The Shopkeepers

After her mother and aunt were diagnosed with cancer at the same time, founder Brooke Keele found herself feeling less and less fulfilled with her demanding corporate job in healthcare. It was taking time away from her family when they needed her the most. After they passed away within a couple months of one other, Brooke was pushed to question what truly mattered and what was important. The short answer was that it was not the insane hours and time away working but spending time with her husband, two daughters, and large extended brood. Brooke decided she wanted to create a consistent community, a place where people would feel inspired to spend time with loved ones and know they they were buying high quality products that are good for them, their people, and the environment.  And thus, the Dapper Dwelling was born with all of this in mind.
Now open in Omaha's Countryside Village shopping center and online for all, this shop embodies three clear values held dear by the Keele's. They are craftsmanship, the idea of quality goods that are functional, beautiful, and passed down with the stories of the maker. Brooke and Chris hope to hear your stories to add to the community they are building. For example, did you use that Vermont pottery pie dish to cook your grandmother's apple pie recipe with locally picked orchard apples? The Keele's want to hear about it and celebrate those little moments with you.

The next business value is sustainability, which Brooke focuses on so her two girls can understand that the earth is not a renewable resource. As a family, they are working towards a zero waste lifestyle by taking meaningful steps in that direction. In that vein, Dapper Dwelling products are free of harmful chemicals, practical, and can be reusable or biodegradable. Add sustainability to your household with small changes like switching to Swedish dish towels instead of paper towels or using beeswax wrap rather than plastic wrap; these can truly add up and make a difference in the health of our planet. Plus, with quality products, you can reduce future needs and instead pass items down through generations to challenge the consumerism paradigm.

Finally, the notion of simple living rounds out the core Dapper Dwelling values. A lot can happen when you simply slow down to enjoy nature, friends, family, and coziness. Beautifying and simplifying our home spaces can do wonders for how we see the world. The shop is here to help with these three things and so much more.

Overall, she wants customers to experience a sense of calm and coziness when they walk in. Brooke hopes they use all their senses to explore the shop....smell the candle burning when entering, feel the different textures of wood, metal, and fabric, see the beauty of hand-crafted artisan wares and the girls' artwork on the windows. Taste samples of spices and vinegars, and feel like a valued and appreciated part of the Dapper Dwelling community.

Welcome to the Dapper Dwelling. Be sure to stop in and see some best sellers like reusable market bags, wool dryer balls, and so much more that the store has to offer. Join the community, and enjoy the simple pleasures life has to offer.
