Touchdown! 4 Recipes Served Up For The Super Bowl

Full disclosure-I attend/host Super Bowl parties purely for the company, food, booze, and commercials.  If you are like me but short on time and creativity, I rounded up some favorite recipes using delicious ingredients from our Dapper Pantry.  From appetizer to cocktail-we've got you covered this Sunday!

1.  Cinnamon Caramel Popcorn



  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees
  • Pop popcorn and put in large bowl
  • Remove lid from caramel jar and place in microwave to warm up for 15 seconds or so (this is optional but make it a little easier to pour)
  • Pour over popcorn and mix gently until coated
  • Spread out popcorn on baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and cinnamon
  • Bake in oven for 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes or so
  • Remove from oven, let cool, and enjoy


2.  Chicken Korma (recipe from Oaktown Spice Shop)

Serves 4


Blend the ginger, garlic, almonds and 3 tablespoons water in the container of an immersion blender or electric blender until you have a smooth paste.

Put the oil in a large skillet and set over high heat. When very hot, add the bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom pods, cloves and cumin seeds. Stir once or twice and add the onions. Stir and fry for about 5 minutes or until the onions turn brownish. Add the ginger-garlic paste and the garam masala and fry for a minute. Add the tomato paste and fry for another minute. Add the chicken, chile powder, salt and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil. Cover, turn the heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes.

Remove the cover, add the cream and cook on high heat, stirring gently, for another 7–8 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

Serve with rice or crusty beer bread (see recipe below).


3.  Easy Hatch Green Chile Cheddar Beer Bread:



  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 5x9 loaf pan
  • Pour 12 oz. beer into large mixing bowl.  Add mix and shredded cheese.
  • Stir by hand until there is no dry mix left in the batter.
  • Pour batter into your loaf pan and spread out evenly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until done.  (for a golden buttery crust, Pour 2 Tbsp. melted butter and sprinkle a little more cheese over the loaf with 5 min. left of baking.
  • Coll 15 minutes...Enjoy!


4.  Crawfish Boil Bloody Mary

2oz Vodka 
 4oz Bloody Mary mix (just use your favorite or make your own!)
 El Guapo® Crawfish Boil bitters
 Worchestershire sauce
 Hot sauce


Fill a highball glass or plastic go cup with ice. Add vodka and top with your favorite Bloody Mary mix. Splash in El Guapo Crawfish Boil bitters, Worchestershire and hot sauce to taste. Stir well. Garnish with pickled okra, olives, lemon zest & other savory lagniappe. Go forth and march on!
